The America’s. Ah, so much political strife and discrimination inside these three landmasses! I was born in the one everyone calls America, which is The United States of America. At the same time I’ve been out of this America for nearly ten years likely to never live on her shores again. My bias towards the US is my own. There is no one to blame or applaud for this stance. As long as I can remember, that’s going into my childhood, I was anti-American. At this young age I don’t even know why. At my current age I feel its best saved for an article within this chapter, not as an introduction!
I’ve lived in the US and Guatemala. Everywhere else was merely passing through; some naturally longer spells than others. I can safely say my favourite America is Guatemala; this too will get its own article.
I have travelled around large parts of the United States and Central America. My time in South America was limited to an amazing two months in Argentina followed by a rough three weeks in Bolivia. I have love for Latin America undoubtedly. The Canadians too I’ve always found pleasant. Despite this a strong itch tells me my children won’t be born anywhere near the America’s! In my heart I’ve always felt more European than New World! Many would say my characteristics and looks have skipped a few generations often guessing I’m Irish. My feeling is clearly all bloodlines head back home eventually!
